Eagles Travel To Drexel
The Eagle football squad, coming off a first round district win over the Tigers of Rich Hill, will travel north to battle state-power Drexel. The 10-0 Bobcats, who fell in the state semifinals last year, look to continue their march through the playoffs. Coach Mark McFarland's Eagles have different plans, looking to contain Drexel's explosive offense, while controlling the time of possession and letting their balanced offensive attack do its damage. This sure-to-be physical matchup will kickoff Friday night in Drexel at 7:00pm. Good luck Eagles!
Pair of Eagles Headed To State
Congratulations to Senior Olivia Moss and Freshman LeLand Harris for qualifying for Cross Country state! Moss, who is making her fourth straight state appearance, finished 21st and Harris finished 18th, running a personal record 19:01, in his high school district debut. Junior Jordan Osborne and Freshman Lincoln Moss also registered personal bests and Senior Julia Case was only 6 seconds off a PR. Seventh-grader Austyn Moss ran a PR at his championship run last weekend at the inaugural Missouri Middle School Cross Country State Championship held at Lucas Oil Speedway. The state-bound Eagles will leave Friday at 9am for the meet in Columbia. LeLand will run at 9am Saturday and Olivia will run at 9:45.
Lady Eagles Fall Short
The Lady Eagles took top-seeded College Heights to the brink in the Class 1 District 9 championship but came up short falling in an exciting 5-set match. The orange and black, who finish 22-11-2, won the first set 25-23, dropped the second 21-25, won the third 27-25, and lost the fourth 17-25 to set up the winner-take-all fifth set. The youthful Eagles, who boast only one upperclassman on their roster, gave all in attendance a great show before falling 15-17 in the deciding set. Congratulations to the Lady Eagles and their coaches, Mrs. Brianna Vinson and Mr. Daniel Osborne, on a fantastic season!
